PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Normal Grief Festival is a multimedia event with the goal of creating a space that normalises grief. Grief is an inevitable part of the human experience, which is why it is so important to make talking about it less taboo.
The day included a creative writing workshop about grief, a story circle led by grief coach Rachel Fowler, and a short film screening featuring 10 films about different types of grief. It concluded with an open mic night, where people could share stories, perform their stand-up routines, or sing songs.
For the poster and flyer design I wanted to play with the idea of the thing we're grieving being something that is missing from our lives. The torn away shapes are modelled after two arms, wrapped around someone in a hug.
